| The Fox River & Countryside Fire Rescue District responded to a residential emergency resulting in the successful rescue of four residents, two canines, and 16 additional pets.
Prior to the arrival of on-duty units, off-duty Fox River & Countryside Fire Rescue Lieutenant Kenneth Wright responded from his nearby residence after becoming aware of the emergency. Lieutenant Wright entered the home and immediately began evacuating the family and their pets, placing himself at personal risk to ensure everyone made it out safely.
The District commends Lieutenant Wright for his courage, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to protecting the community—both on and off duty.
